Default Orders debate

We were debating if Order of the Vampire actually adds more damage or if its just life stealing off what you are already dealing....Does someone know? The way its worded I was thinking it doesnt, you just gain life off of what you are already dealing.

From the way its worded it doesnt seem right, If thats the case shouldnt it be +17 damage and you steal 17 life? All extra damage mods are worded like this.
Whats the difference in this skill?

Vamp does the same as vamp anything else. If your average strike is 25(example only) and you have whatever in vamp say 5 life stealing... you will strike for 25, and then see that you steal an additional 5 health. Its not going to be +dmg +stealing life, thats too much. From what I understand, even if you do 0 damage, you will still steal X amount life.

It isn't damage, it is actually better than damage as it won't take armor into account. You just steal 17 life (which most will equate to dmg for the enemy regardless of whether you need the life or not). And then you still to the normal dmg from your weapon. Basically consider it like having the best part of nearly 4 vampiric mods on your weapon without the drawbacks.

Life stealing ISNT damage, thats why it isnt worded like you like.

"Life Stealing" means it just TAKES 17 life and gives it to you.

So "steals 17 life" or w/e means it takes 17 of their life, and gives it to you.

Order of the Vampire is not damage. It is direct life stealing, meaning prot spirit/shielding hands/rof will not stop it.
